Plagiarism and Manuscript Originality Policy
The Revista de Inclusión Educativa y Diversidad (RIED) adheres to the principles of academic integrity, intellectual honesty, and ethics in scientific publishing. Therefore, it does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or similar practices that compromise authorship rights, originality, or the reliability of scientific knowledge.
Plagiarism is understood as any action that reproduces, in whole or in part, someone else’s content without proper attribution, whether literally, paraphrased, or translated, including:
-
Using text fragments without quotation marks or explicit reference.
-
Presenting ideas, data, figures, or tables from other sources as one’s own.
-
Translating content from another language without appropriate citation.
-
Reusing one’s own previously published works without indication (self-plagiarism or duplication).
Other unacceptable practices:
-
Simultaneous submission to multiple journals.
-
Use of AI-generated content without explicit declaration.
Procedures
-
Before publication: if plagiarism is detected, the manuscript will be immediately rejected and authors notified; in severe cases, institutions may be informed.
-
After publication: if plagiarism is detected, the article will be formally retracted, a retraction notice will be posted, indexing databases will be notified, and authors may be banned from future submissions for up to 5 years.
Ethical reference: This policy follows the guidelines of COPE and the standards of SciELO, DOAJ, and Latindex.
