Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be evaluated by an editor to determine if they meet the objectives and scope of this journal. Those deemed suitable will be sent for peer review before being accepted or rejected.

Before submitting a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included in the submission, such as photos, documents, and data sets. All authors identified in the submission must give their consent to be identified as authors. Where applicable, the research must be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the country of the study.

An editor may reject a submission if it does not meet minimum quality standards. Before submitting, make sure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated correctly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood that reviewers will agree to review the article. When you are confident that your submission meets this standard, proceed to the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Articles submitted to RIED must be original, unpublished and with themes specific to this journal, i.e., articles whose subject matter refers to any of the theoretical or practical aspects of education, inclusion and diversity. They should include a theoretical framework and/or a literature review relevant to the research topic, a clearly defined methodology, consistent with the stated purpose, data analysis section and/or a discussion arising from the data presented in the manuscript.

Authors should provide authorship responsibility information at the time of manuscript submission, considering the CRediT Taxonomy. This is composed of 14 community-owned roles that can be used to describe the key types of contributions typically made to the production and publication of research outputs, such as research articles.

Roles:

It is possible to assign more than one role to the same author, and at the same time, the same role can be performed by more than one author. Authors are requested to include the authorship statement in the comments to the editor when submitting the manuscript.

Example of authorship statement

Author 1: conceptualization, data curation, formal analysis, writing - original draft.

Author 2: conceptualization, data curation, project management.

Author 3: conceptualization, data curation, validation, writing - original draft, writing - review and editing.

Those that do not meet these requirements may be rejected or, in exceptional cases, returned to the authors to submit a corrected version within a maximum period of two weeks.
  • Articles that meet the editorial requirements will be submitted to an academic evaluation by two specialists in the corresponding areas, under a double-blind system to guarantee impartiality and anonymity. The evaluators will apply a rigorous evaluation guideline that examines criteria such as originality, relevance of the topic, methodological quality and potential impact on the field of study. In the event of receiving conflicting evaluations, a third evaluator will be called in to settle the outcome, ensuring the objectivity of the process.
  • The reviews will be reviewed by the members of the editorial committee, who may make suggestions for modifications, if necessary.
